Who Is It For
Off-face Fraxel laser Resurfacing is used for patients who wish to rejuvenate their skin in areas other than the face. The most common areas that are treated are the chest, neck, hands, and arms.
How It Works
Off-face Fraxel Laser Resurfacing works in the same way that Fraxel Laser Resurfacing of the face works. Utilizing Fractional Resurfacing Technology, the laser delivers a series of microscopic closely spaced laser spots to the skin while simultaneously preserving normal healthy skin between the laser spots. This preservation of healthy skin results in rapid healing following the laser treatment. The skin responds to the laser treatment by generating new collagen during the healing process.
Off-face fraxel laser Results
Off-face Fraxel Laser Resurfacing reduces brown spots, improves fine lines and texture, reduces skin crepiness, and gives the skin a more uniform color. In addition, because the improvement in the skin results from the laser stimulating new production of the patient’s own collagen, the improvement is long lasting and should persist for years.
Treatment with the Fraxel laser has no significant recovery downtime. There is no need for pain medicine after the treatment, as any discomfort from the procedure is minimal. Patients can return to work immediately after their treatment or the next day. In order to receive an optimum result, our patients are generally treated with a series of four or five Fraxel laser treatments at three to four week intervals.
In our office, Fraxel Laser Resurfacing is performed by Dr. Anterasian. He has performed over 800 Fraxel laser procedures involving the skin of the face, neck, chest, hands, and arms with excellent results. Our patients have truly enjoyed the smoother, more youthful, and rejuvenated skin that Fraxel laser treatment provides. As a result, Fraxel Laser Resurfacing has become the most common laser procedure performed in our office.
