Belotero – The Ideal Filler for Fine Lines

What Is Belotero?
Belotero is an FDA approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler. It is uniquely designed to fill fine lines and wrinkles while maintaining completely normal facial movement and expression. After its placement into the skin, Belotero integrates smoothly and readily, producing a natural and more youthful look.

How Does It Work?
Belotero is a hyaluronic acid gel. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar naturally found in every human being. As you age, your hyaluronic acid levels decrease and Belotero helps to restore them, resulting in younger looking skin. Belotero is highly biocompatible and no allergy testing is needed before treatment.

How is Belotero Different?
Belotero is unique in the way it integrates with your skin’s tissue. It is particularly useful in filling very fine lines and wrinkles.

The gel formulation is soft and cohesive and the results are instant. We often use this product on smile lines, vertical lip lines, and wrinkles around the eyes. Belotero’s unique structure completely fills the dermal spaces and produces a lasting natural cosmetic effect with smooth transitions between treated and untreated areas. This capacity to completely fill the dermal spaces provides a lasting natural looking effect.

Results
Results from Belotero are visible immediately after completion of the treatment, with lines and wrinkles softened and reduced. Although every patient is different, we typically find that Belotero injections last about six months. Areas that are prone to movement may need more frequent application than less active areas.

Belotero is a no-downtime filler. Patients can resume all of their normal activites immediately after leaving the office. Many of our patients like to schedule their appointments around lunch time and then return to work immediately after treatment. There may be a bit of swelling or redness at the injection sites. These side effects are usually minimal and typically fade away quickly.

FAQ

Belotero is an injectable filler that is used to smooth lines and wrinkles on your face. Upon injection, it quickly and evenly integrates into your skin.
No, its acts in a totally different way. It fills in areas within the skin to reduce the depth of wrinkles, lines, and folds. The skin remains mobile and flexible, with a natural look, feel, and movement.
Belotero is a hyaluronic acid injectable filler designed to integrate into facial skin tissue. The unique manufacturing process for it yields a soft and cohesive gel that, once injected, instantly fills the skin to help smooth moderate-to-severe etched-in lines and wrinkles. it is an ideal option for treating very fine lines such as etched-in smile lines and vertical lip lines (the thin lines that appear above and around the lips).
Results are visible immediately, with lines and wrinkles smoothed and softened.
Individual results may vary, but Belotero should last about 6 months or more. Some factors that affect how long it lasts are the amount of product used and the area it is injected into. In areas that experience a lot of movement due to eating, talking, and smiling, the product may not last as long as other less active areas.
Just as wrinkles and folds vary from face to face, so does the amount of Belotero needed per treatment. It’s very individual—it depends on the amount of correction desired, the number of areas to be treated, and other factors. Your healthcare provider can better estimate once you have a consultation about your individual needs. Most patients will only need one syringe of Belotero, but occasionally two syringes may be used.
While each Belotero healthcare provider determines price in his or her own way, Belotero is priced similarly to other dermal fillers.
As with all injectable treatments, there can be some discomfort associated with the procedure. If you have concerns, discuss them with your healthcare provider, because there are effective ways to manage this during treatment. In our office, patients are always numbed for a Belotero treatment.
Belotero is made of a substance called hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural component of skin. HA binds to water, making it an ideal product for correcting wrinkles and folds, as it binds with the skin’s own water. The HA in Belotero is specially formulated to create a uniquely smooth and cohesive gel. This injectable gel blends into the natural structure of your skin, gently filling lines and wrinkles and creating a smooth natural look and feel.
Belotero is injected into the skin in a simple and quick treatment performed by a licensed healthcare provider using a fine-gauge needle. You can either sit or recline during treatment and the aftercare is minimal. In our office, board certified physicians perform all Belotero treatments.
Belotero is FDA approved and clinically proven to be safe and effective. Hyaluronic acid products for wrinkle correction have been available for many years and have been safely used in thousands of treatments around the world.
Just like any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. These side effects typically resolve very quickly. Because Belotero is generally placed more superficially in the skin, bruises are very rare.
There is no downtime associated with a Belotero treatment. In fact, most patients return to their normal daily activities immediately after leaving the office. Every patient is unique, so be sure to discuss your plans during a consultation with your healthcare provider.
