Restylane 2016-11-11T07:38:34+00:00

Restylane is a natural dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid (HA) that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. HA is a substance already produced by the body, so no allergy tests are required for Restylane injections.

At the Santa Monica Laser and Skin Care Center, Dr. Amerian and Dr. Anterasian are committed to natural-looking results. There should be no evidence that a cosmetic procedure has been “done” to your face. Instead, the look should simply be more youthful, refreshed, and rejuvenated.

Dr. Amerian and Dr. Anterasian have performed thousands of dermal filler procedures since 2003, when the FDA first approved the injections. As a result, their individual approach is based on experience. A natural look from Restylane is entirely dependent on the skill and experience of the injector.

Candidates for Restylane Injections

Restylane is well tolerated by most all patients regardless of skin type or skin tone. It is a gel that softens facial lines, wrinkles, and folds.

It is also effective for those who wish plumper lips.

How Restylane Works

The hyaluronic acid in Restylane creates more volume and fullness where depressions caused by folds and wrinkles once were.

What to Expect During a Restylane Treatment

A Restylane treatment starts with a thorough examination of your face to determine which areas would most benefit from the injections. The doctor will also determine which areas should not receive treatment. After a plan has been created, the injections can begin.

Restylane is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultra-fine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. An anesthetic is also included in the clear gel.

Results of Restylane Facial Filler

Restylane dramatically reduces the appearance of unwanted skin wrinkles and folds, restoring fullness to areas of the face that have lost volume as a result of the aging process.

The most common side effects are temporary redness and swelling at the injection sites. Make-up can be used to cover the redness a few hours after the injections, and you can resume normal daily activities right away.

Restylane treatment lasts for about six to eight months in most patients, and for up to a year in some patients. Restylane treatment is generally repeated at six-month intervals in order to maintain the youthful look that it gives.

Located conveniently in Santa Monica, Dr. Amerian and Dr. Anterasian treat patients in greater Los Angeles, including Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Manhattan Beach, Venice, Westwood, and Malibu.
