Dr. Amerian and Dr. Anterasian Attend Annual Laser Society Meeting
Dr. Mary Lee Amerian and Dr. George Anterasian recently attended the annual meeting of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, which was held in Phoenix this year. This is the largest and most prestigious laser meeting in the world. We attend this laser meeting every year in order to ensure that we always offer our patients the best and most up to date treatments available.
One of the most important take-home messages from the meeting was the importance of combining different therapies to achieve the best outcomes. At the meeting, speakers from around the country consistently recommended the combination of Fraxel, Thermage, Botox, and dermal fillers like Juvederm to rejuvenate the skin of the face.
Our Spring Laser Special – A Complete Facial Rejuvenation Package
Because of combination therapies being emphasized at the laser meeting, our office has decided to offer a spring laser special that combines skin rejuvenation procedures during the months of May and June. The package begins with a patient selecting which of three facial rejuvenation procedures to undergo. A patient may choose to have Thermage, a single treatment with the Fraxel Repair Laser, or a series of four Fraxel Dual laser treatments. The package also includes a treatment with Botox to two areas of the face or a treatment with one full syringe of Restylane or Juvederm. We are offering these packages at the special price of $2500 for Thermage, $3450 for Fraxel Dual, and $2950 for Fraxel Repair. These prices represent more than a $750 discount from our regular prices. Zero interest financing is available.
The Thermage package is best suited for patients who have mild to moderate facial laxity and wish to achieve tightening of the face and upper neck. The Fraxel Repair package is best suited for patients who have fine lines, skin laxity, and brown spots, and wish to complete their rejuvenation in a single treatment. The Fraxel Repair is also the best non-surgical tissue tightening laser available. The Fraxel Dual package is best suited for patients who need to improve fine lines and brown pigmentation in the face or who wish to soften facial scars such as acne scars. All three procedures give long-lasting results that should persist for years.

Non-surgical Non-Invasive Body Contouring- The Zeltiq Procedure
The most innovative discussions at the laser conference revolved around the new and exciting field of non-surgical non-invasive body contouring. This is a new area of medicine in which fat is reduced by non-invasive means to improve the contour and shape of the body.
The first available method to reduce fat non-invasively is called the Zeltiq procedure. The Zeltiq procedure reduces fat by cooling it. Ideal candidates for the procedure have discrete and localized fat bulges on the abdomen, love handles, and back. Zeltiq is especially helpful when the fat bulge cannot be reduced by diet and exercise. Zeltiq treatments result in noticeable and natural looking fat reduction in the treated areas.
The procedure is done by applying the Zeltiq applicator to the fat bulge for one hour. During this time, the applicator chills the fat. The exposure of fat cells to cooling begins a process of natural fat cell removal. There is no discomfort during the time the applicator is on the skin.
In order to maintain symmetry, most patients will treat two areas of their body during the treatment session (one area on each side of the body). Thus, most appointments for Zeltiq will last for a little over two hours. Patients may do whatever they wish during this time, including reading, working with their electronic devices, or listening to music. The visible reduction in fat will appear over the next three months following the procedure.
The Zeltiq procedure is extremely safe. There is minimal discomfort during the procedure, and absolutely no down after the procedure. There may be mild tenderness after the treatment and a temporary reduction in sensation resulting from the chilling of the tissues. Most patients resume their normal activities, including returning to work and exercise regimens, on the same day as the procedure. Three months after the first procedure, the procedure may be repeated to further enhance the result.
