Who Is It For
Sclerotherapy is a procedure used for the treatment of unwanted blood vessels, commonly referred to as spider veins. These dilated small blood vessels have a red or bluish color. They appear mostly on the legs and occasionally on the face
How It Works
Unwanted blood vessels are treated by the injection of a solution that will cause them to disappear or become much smaller.
Results
This procedure is very safe and has been used for decades. After a few treatments most patients experience a 50 percent to 90 percent improvement in their unwanted leg veins.
Laser therapy is also available to treat the problem of unwanted leg veins. However, this treatment has not yet been perfected. At this time, sclerotherapy is still the gold standard.
