Juvederm Voluma Approved by FDA and Now Available for Facial Rejuvenation

Dr. Amerian and Dr. Anterasian are happy to announce that Juvederm Voluma has been approved by the FDA and is now available for facial rejuvenation.
Juvederm Voluma is the newest member of the Juvederm family of hyaluronic acid gel fillers. As its name suggests, it is used to correct age-related volume loss in the face. It is the only product currently available that is FDA approved for facial volumizing. The most commonly treated areas are the cheeks, cheekbones, and chin.

Juvederm Voluma is formulated to be thicker than the other Juvederm preparations. The thicker gel results in Juvederm Voluma having more lifting power in the skin and a greater capacity to restore volume to the face.

As part of the normal aging process human beings lose bone mass and tissue fat from the face, resulting in a loss of facial volume. As a result of this loss of facial volume, the skin becomes saggy, the face flattens, the cheeks become more hollow, and the face loses its youthful shape. By restoring this lost volume, Juvederm Voluma reverses these signs of aging. When Juvederm Voluma is placed under the skin the skin is lifted, the facial contours are restored, and the cheekbones are enhanced. The result is a very natural appearing, more youthful, and rejuvenated face. Most remarkably, results from Juvederm Voluma treatment last for 18-24 months! This is much longer than the duration of many other currently available fillers.

Juvederm Voluma treatment is easy to tolerate. Patients are numbed prior to treatment with a numbing cream. In addition, Juvederm Voluma is formulated with an anesthetic within it, so that as the treatment proceeds the tissues get more numb over time. For these reasons, nearly every patient will have a comfortable experience.

Juvederm Voluma can also be used in combination with the other Juvederm preparations, Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus, to further enhance the result. When this is done, the nasolabial and other facial folds can be reduced and fine lines and wrinkles in the face softened. These treatments can all be done at the same time in one treatment session.

To mark the start of the new year, our office is again offering exceptional facial rejuvenation packages. The start of a new year offers a fresh beginning for every one of us. The Fraxel Repair package is best suited for patients who wish to obtain tissue tightening, improve fine lines, wrinkles, and brown spots, and complete their rejuvenation in a single procedure.
