Fraxel Restore Dual Laser

We are among the very first offices in the Los Angeles area to obtain the Fraxel Restore Dual Laser and to make it available to our skin rejuvenation patients.
The Fraxel Restore Dual Laser is designed for patients who want to obtain long-lasting improvement in the overall appearance of their skin and who do not wish to have downtime. The Fraxel Restore Dual can be used to rejuvenate the skin of the face, neck, chest, hands, and arms. Depending on each patient’s unique needs, the laser treatments will improve fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture, abnormal brown pigment, brown spots, acne scars and other facial scars.
The Fraxel Dual laser system is literally two lasers in one. It starts with the original Erbium based Fraxel Restore laser and adds to it an innovative Thulium laser. The Thulium laser is used to accelerate the clearance of abnormal brown pigment from the skin, including the pigment found in brown spots, brown patches, and sun spots.
The Thulium laser works by delivering laser energy into the top layers of the skin where the abnormal brown pigment is located. This results in more rapid clearance of the pigment from the skin. As a result, significant reduction in abnormal brown pigment can be achieved in only one or two treatment sessions! Patients we have treated with the Fraxel Dual have obtained major improvement in their brown pigmentation, and are regularly asked by people they know what they have done to their skin to look so much better!
The Erbium component of the Fraxel Dual laser is used to improve fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, other facial scars, and skin texture. The Erbium laser works by delivering laser energy deeper into the skin than the Thulium laser does, which stimulates new collagen production. It is this new collagen that results from the Erbium laser treatment that ultimately improves the fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and skin texture. In addition, the laser treatment results in reduced skin crepiness and smoother skin. Patients who need improvement in their fine lines, wrinkles, texture, and scars generally require approximately four treatments. These treatments are given at monthly intervals, and do not have any downtime.
Depending upon each patient’s unique needs, Fraxel Dual Laser treatment can be delivered as a 100% Thulium laser treatment to favor rapid improvement in brown pigmentation, a 100% Erbium laser treatment to favor improvement in fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and texture, or can be delivered as a balanced treatment that consists of both Thulium laser and Erbium laser treatment. Thus, treatments with the Fraxel Restore Dual laser system can be customized based upon each patient’s unique needs.
Our office has been performing Fraxel laser resurfacing since 2004, when the original Fraxel laser was first introduced for skin rejuvenation. As a result, we have extensive experience with Fraxel laser skin treatment. Dr. Anterasian has personally performed over 1400 Fraxel laser procedures with excellent results. Our patients have been very happy with the results we have achieved with the Fraxel laser. Over the years, the Fraxel laser has been a homerun when it comes to skin rejuvenation and overall improvement in the appearance of the skin.

Dr. Amerian was recently honored by Los Angeles Magazine by being selected to be a Southern California Super Doctor for 2010.
This is the second consecutive year that Dr. Amerian has achieved this distinction. Selection as a Super Doctor is made based upon the judgments of practicing physicians and other health professionals who choose the doctors they feel are the best. These professionals select the doctors that they would refer their own family members to. Only 37 dermatologists were selected to be 2010 Southern California Super Doctors. Thus, it is quite an honor to be chosen as a Super Doctor by one’s peers.
