What is the TED System?

The TED System is a new and completely non-invasive treatment for addressing hair loss without any downtime. TED is an ultrasound-based system that uses ultrasound and air pressure to deliver into the scalp various nutrients that stimulate hair growth. This results in the production of more hair and thicker higher quality hair in the treated areas.

There are approximately 80 million men and women in the United States who have hair loss or thinning hair, according to the American Hair Loss Association. The TED system was developed to offer a solution to this problem.

How the TED System Works

The treatment tip on the TED device uses ultrasound and air pressure to deliver a proprietary hair care formula into the skin of the scalp. This results in the delivery of essential nutrients to the hair follicles to support optimum hair growth, follicle strength, and hair health. In addition, the treatment promotes increased blood circulation to the hair follicles. The combined result of both of these benefits is increased hair growth, improved hair quality, and better appearance of the hair.

What Are the Active Ingredients in the Hair Care Formula?

The active ingredients in the formula include amino acids, peptides, growth factors, and botanicals that have been shown to promote hair growth. The formula was developed at one of the top hair treatment clinics in Europe.

Results:

TED treatment results in thicker and fuller looking hair with improved shine and increased strength. Patients report visible improvements in hair density, reduced hair shedding, and improved hair quality.

After the first treatment, many patients report a decrease in shedding and early signs of hair growth. After two treatments, the hair often appears thicker and new hair growth is frequently noticeable. Most patients achieve their best results after three treatments performed at monthly intervals.

TED treatment has no downtime and has no significant side effects or complications. It has been used successfully by scores of patients to improve the appearance and overall health of the hair.

TED stands for TransEpidermal Delivery. Transepidermal delivery is a unique method of delivering therapeutic substances through the skin’s outermost layer, called the epidermis, and into the deeper tissues of the scalp. TED uses ultrasound energy to promote delivery of therapeutic nutrients to the hair follicles. There, the therapeutic nutrients act to stimulate hair follicles, promote hair growth, and improve the overall thickness and quality of the hair. TED is completely non-invasive. It uses no needles, requires no anesthesia, has no cutting, and has no down time.
TED treatment is painless. Many patients find the treatment to be soothing and even enjoyable. After the treatment, the scalp may feel a little warm. There is absolutely no downtime and patients can resume all of their normal activities immediately after leaving the office.
TED treatment can be performed on anyone, male or female, who is experiencing hair loss, hair thinning, or hair shedding. It is especially useful in patients who have male or female pattern baldness, genetic or inherited hair loss or hair loss from stress, recent surgery, or a recent illness.

Men who have been bald for many years will probably not respond well to TED treatment.

Yes, the TED procedure is completely safe.  It was FDA approved in January 2022.  Clinical studies and patient testimonials support the effectiveness of TED treatments.  Many patients report improvements in hair density, hair quality, and reduced hair shedding. After TED treatment, the hair in the treated areas appears fuller and thicker.

The TED treatment is completely non-invasive.  TED treatment results in increased blood flow to hair follicles and improved delivery of nutrients to hair follicles resulting in improved hair growth and hair quality.  These results are obtained without any needles or pain and without the shedding that patients experience with other hair treatments and procedures.

Yes.  PRP (platelet rich plasma) and TED are two completely different methods for treating hair loss.  In PRP a concentrated solution of a patient’s platelets is injected into the scalp to stimulate hair follicles, while with TED, ultrasound is used to drive nutrients into the scalp to stimulate hair follicles.  Both treatments can be used to treat hair loss and thinning hair.  Because the treatments use different mechanisms to treat hair loss, patients who have not responded to PRP may still respond to TED.

Yes.  Patients who are taking prescription or over-the-counter medications for hair loss can still do TED.  In many cases the best results are obtained by combining TED treatment with medication.

TED is an extremely safe procedure and any significant side effects are extremely rare.    There may be temporary minor side effects such as itching, mild tenderness, and mild redness in the treated areas.  These resolve quickly after the procedure.

Yes.  TED can be used on the eyebrows as well as on the scalp to promote hair growth in the treated areas.
